What is social skill building?
Social skill building can be a powerful tool to help children and adolescents understand and master the social challenges they face.
Together, we’ll create an activity-based skill building program and implement it in a structured setting.
How can it help?
Social skill building addresses a wide array of socially desirable – even essential – behaviors.
It can start with something as simple as learning how to share or offering to help others in need.
It can help young people gain the confidence they need to initiate relationships and the poise to navigate difficult conversations with others.
It can also guide them in becoming more comfortable in expressing their emotions, in being able to request help when they need it, in giving compliments, and saying “Please” and “Thank you” with sincerity.
During the process, they’ll learn to identify and improve social cues, perspective taking, social motivation, response to social bids, social reciprocity, and interpersonal problem-solving.
What is a social skills assessment?
To guide us in creating the program, your child will complete the social skills assessment, a structured, interactive, and activity-based evaluation of several aspects of social development.
Together, we’ll design the social skills program based on your child’s individual strengths and needs.
Self-confident. Self-aware. Self-actualized.
