How long are sessions?

Sessions are scheduled for:

60 minutes (53-minute session, 7-minute notes)

I will be able to schedule a longer family session for intense sessions as needed.

Do you accept insurance?

I understand that the cost of therapy can feel like a barrier, and I want to make sure that financial concerns don’t stand in the way of you getting the support you deserve.

I am considered an out-of-network therapist, meaning I do not bill insurance directly. There are a variety of reasons for this, including protecting your privacy, freedom from requiring a formal diagnosis, and ease of scheduling — all of which allow us to focus on what matters most: your care.

That said, many clients receive reimbursement from their insurance company depending on their plan. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits, including what percentage of sessions may be covered and how to submit for reimbursement.

I also work with Grow Therapy, Alma, and Headway, which may provide additional options for reducing your out-of-pocket costs.

If you have questions about fees or want to explore your options before scheduling, feel free to reach out — I am happy to help you figure out what works best for your situation.

What if I can’t afford your rate?

What if I can’t afford your rate?

I understand that the cost of therapy can feel like a barrier, and I want to make sure that financial concerns don’t stand in the way of you getting the support you deserve.

I accept insurance through Grow Therapy, Alma, and Headway, which can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs. I encourage you to check with your insurance provider to understand your mental health benefits, including your copay, deductible, and coverage for telehealth services.

What is your cancellation policy?

Sessions that are not cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be charged the full session rate.

Do you work with other treatment providers?

In the initial session, I will ask you if there are any other providers to whom I need to communicate. (This can be any other professional psychiatrist, former therapist, physician, etc.).

If you would like me to share information or obtain information from them, you can complete a Release of Information form that allows me talk with them.

How long before I get better?

The healing process is different for everyone.

It is important to know that healing takes time, can be painful to repair, and takes active and consistent work to see progress.

Some people have an “a-ha” moment that allows them to feel better about certain things more quickly, and others report feeling improvement over time as therapy progresses.

What types of “therapy” do you do?

My approach is flexible and tailored to you — each session can be structured or unstructured depending on what you bring to the room that day. No two sessions look exactly the same, because no two people are exactly the same.

At the foundation of my work is a person-centered (client-driven) and solution-focused approach, meaning you are in the driver’s seat and we stay focused on the changes you actually want to see in your life.

Depending on your needs and goals, I draw from several evidence-based modalities, including:

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) — explores how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and helps you build new, healthier patterns
  • DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) — builds skills around emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness
  • TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused CBT) — a specialized approach for processing trauma and its lasting effects
  • Narrative Therapy — helps you reframe and reauthor the stories you tell about yourself and your experiences
  • Somatic Therapy — connects the mind and body, recognizing that trauma and stress are held physically as well as emotionally
  • Polyvagal-Informed Therapy — works with your nervous system to build safety, regulation, and resilience from the inside out

Together, we will find the combination that works best for you.

What are you favorite guilty pleasures?

I love pizza. No matter the time of day, it is by far my favorite food.

Eating snacks while tucked in my bed.

Watching medical dramas… again and again.
